Merseyside Brussels Office

As Europe looks again towards its Citizens, it is important that we as a region can actively contribute to the development of the European Agenda. We have to be prepared to ensure a regional perspective is included in the shaping of policies, directives and funding issues across the whole EU agenda.

A key article in the treaty of the European Union states that Europe should pursue actions which strengthen ' Economic and Social Cohesion'. We are now seeing the benefits of established European partnerships with local people, local organisations and central government.

It is up to us as a partnership to share our experiences with other Regions, embrace the enlargement of the European Union and contribute to a true 'Europe of the Regions'. We do this through direct contacts and partnership as well as through the Merseyside Brussels Office.

The Merseyside Brussels Office aims to address these challenges and build on the development of a two-way dialogue between Merseyside and other European Institutions, regions and their citizens.
